Bollywood Songs DVD Week!
Do you like songs DVDs? I like songs DVDs. I love songs DVDs. I love them wholeheartedly and unabashedly.
Many of you may not know what I’m talking about. Songs DVDs are DVDs that only contain songs from an assortment of Bollywood movies (although I have a songs DVD that contains some songs from some Tamil films as well). A good songs DVD will have maybe 45 or 50 songs on it, sometimes focused on a theme (like love, or songs in the rain, or masti songs) or a particular actor or actress (or one actor/actress vs. another, a la Shahrukh vs. Hrithik).
Songs DVDs are great to have, because sometimes even though a movie is not worth owning, its songs might be cute and fun to watch over and over again. Or perhaps you’re a big fan of so-and-so, but you don’t know about all the films so-and-so has been in – get a songs DVD featuring them. Maybe you just don’t have the time or attention span to watch an entire film; popping in a songs DVD is a good way to get your daily dose of Bollywood while still being about to focus on doing something else, like folding laundry or doing homework.
Songs DVDs are also awesome because they open up a new world of different actors, actresses, and films to discover. It’s easy to find songs DVDs with a balance of songs that you already know and ones that you don’t.
Anyway, this week I’m devoting my posts to songs DVDs, because I love them and I think everyone else should, too! It’s time to put my recent purchases to good use in the name of Bollywood Songs DVDs Week here at Totally Basmatic!

i luuuuuuuuv songs dvd´s. the last one i got was "pyaar ki eki kahani" with very recent songs (like krrish *sigh*)
i have them running whenever i dont have time for watching movies and want more then just an aural treat from my ipod :-)

I have not tried songs dvd's yet. I've just started, and I only own 10 movies and have probably seen about 10 additional that I've rented. In addition, I have three song CD's of films I really liked. (And looking for more, it's hard here in Houston). I think because I'm so new to this, it's hard for me to get into the song unless I know the story behind it... and I think I might feel the same way towards songs dvd's.
Now , about KANK. I had really anticipated the release of this movie (SRK, Rani, need I say more) but I really got discouraged by the reviews. I still haven't seen it yet, but when I found your blog I was so relieved to see that someone loved it. (I was scared because I thought it would be another Dil To Paagal Hai, which was the only SRK film I didn't like). I have a new enthusiasm to get KANK'd!

Despite all the negative reviews there's still a lot of us who liked KANK, Drake :) You should definitely see it and then decide for yourself, it's just one of those movies you either love or hate, I think.
